Rusty Anchor John`s Pass in Madeira Beach

LOVE the Rusty Anchor, amazing atmosphere and excellent cocktails. Our server, Julann, was the bomb! She was super sweet and attentive and gave us some great recommendations for the area!

My husband, mother and law, and myself went here for dinner and the service was great and very fast. We were checked on by a few employees to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. The lobster mac n cheese was phenomenal! We will be going back!

$70 seafood boil is where it's at.... Trent is the best... Jambalaya is on point. That's all you need to know about this place :)

Great place for a meal and a cocktail

This place is a great beach and fun place to take the family as an alternative to Disney. Lots of ice cream and candy and other touristy shopping stores. Make sure you stop to see the biggest chicken wing in the world.

Great food and right next door to Jacks Boat and Jetski rentals. Fantastic time.

A nice place to enjoy a meal over a beautiful, handcrafted picnic table! There are also a variety of sauces you get to choose from when ordering a wrap to taco.

Interesting.I wasn't happy that I ordered lobster mac and cheese off the menu and she said oh it's not lobster. I am sure once they get it established a little more the food will be better. .

Phenomenal local seafood place!!! I was a little nervous eating in a tourist area like John's Pass... Then we stumbled upon this gem! It was fantastic! Great local feel vibe, no nonsense, no fried "I wonder what I'm eating" fish... Just great seafood! Highly recommend!

Best seafood PERIOD! Great climate-controlled picnic table seating area and bar. Colton and the team gave us a fantastic lunch experience!

Service was friendly, kids menu was a bit pricey for a pb jelly samdwich. Macaroni was fantastic, really really good.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! It’s tucked away under all the tourist restaurants and they specialize in seafood boils that are out of this world delicious. Get it with the anchor sauce and a side of Cajun. It will be messy! We take every single out of town guest we have here. Jules is an awesome server and the whole staff is so friendly.

Food was pretty good. Came out in cardboard containers. Corn, potatoes, cornbread all in separate cardboard!! Steamed shrimp was good but think their measurements may be slightly off!!! Prob wld not go back!!

If you like steamed seafood, this place is great. They could use bigger clams and offer some steamed lobster, but aside from that the food is great. For $50 you get plenty of food to feed 2, it comes with corn on the cob, crawfish, clams, muscles and shrimp on top of potatoes. It was great and the service was great as well.

Down the stairs and a little hard to find but definitely worth checking out. Not fancy but the fresh seafood is great! Don’t let the no frills atmosphere fool you, you’ll leave very happy.

The food & drinks were good but a little pricey if eating at the restaurant on top. We also did the steamed food downstairs the shrimp was amazing, the oysters were frozen. We had them remade & they were horrible. They did take them back & another order of shrimp was ordered instead.

Lunch was awesome. My husband said the lobster Bisque was the very best he ever had. Friendly service and clean.

Not as advertised online. This is a steam shop... it is on the ground floor and doesn't have a server. The Cashier is the server. You have a few options of items to get but if you don't want a steamed item you are at the wrong place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the service was great!

Everything at John's pass is awesome. We rented jet skis. So much fun.

Waiter was very absent. Had crawfish and it was tough and dry. Poor lady came in wanting to buy a shirt and they had her waiting for 15+ minutes for a manager to show up because the waiter couldn't sell shirts.

This place was terrible. The food was terrible and overpriced for the garbage they serve you. My husband and I had the fish tacos , which consist of two small soft tacos with very little fish and some cabbage on top. No flavor , completly tasteless for $11.00. Soda $3. And $8.00 for a kids hotdog. I don't mind paying for good food, but this was a rip off. Save your self and don't go. This place looks like is going under and know I know why.

The lobster bisque was amazing and so was the lobster mac and cheese. My mother had the crab legs that were very good and plentiful

Service was very poor. Took a very long time even though they were not busy. Could not tell you about the food because they forgot my order, so we told them not to bother. Limited selection and have only one size for beer, no pitchers or large steins. Poor atmosphere, bench seats at picnic table. You will be lured in by the short wait. Don't give in. Wait to eat at a better place.... you're on vacation, not at a VFW fish fry.

I had the enthusiastic waitress,Laressa. She was awesome and the food was hot and delicious. I would highly recommend visiting Rusty Anchor.

The place was empty, was told they served the same menu next door at the hut, so i went over and got menus chose not to sit on the loud live music area, was seated w menu near the back bar, 30 mins later and the server never came back, no water, no order, nothing. Now with that being said this side looked like they were good to go and smelt great, but being associated with the hut lost them a few stars. Good luck.

Service was fast and food was excellent! Don't get the mac and cheese unless you like lots of cheese and seafood!!

I have been sitting here for over an hour, still no service, not even water. The bar tender/waitress has a half full bar with 6 men that she is flirting with and taking selfies. I’m a local and loved coming here for the lobster bisque and wine. This is not the first time this has happened thus the review. Needless to say I will find somewhere else to hang out. 😢

This is a fun place to spend the day with friends. Cat is a marvelous bartender and Trent is the grand master hot sauce dude. If you enjoy new recipes you have to try his homemade extreme.

Great sea food place

My boyfriend and I split the boil with added crab. There was so much food and it was amazing! Definitely the best meal we had during our stay in the area.

This place is amazing right on the water laid back environment and the owner is great. We highly recommend trying this place out if you are in the area!!! We will be back the next time we come to town.

Not very good food, small portions and high price is not a good combo. Staff was friendly, but that's about all it had going for it.

Nice location of course, friendly server, decent food BUT WHAT REALLY MAKES THIS PLACE SO AWFUL, IS THAT NOTHING YOUR FOOD COMES ON IS REUSABLE. Its great that you can eat while watching the beautiful ocean and wildlife, but was impossible to enjoy while creating the very trash that pollutes it. Plastic silverware wrapped in more plastic, styrofoam containers, single use cups and containers. I'm disgusted a place on the ocean would do that. Imagine the amount of waste this place creates daily! First and last time I will be eating here, sorry.

My daughter has a fish allergy. They cooked her food in separate cookware. That was great! Great service and seafood too!

How in the world anyone thinks this is food seafood is beyond me. I am a local and this was my first (and last) time eating here. The shrimp is not fresh (inexcusable in this area) the food is pre-cooked and they nuke it in the microwave so it burns your mouth. The cornbread was so dry even the waiter offered me honey to ‘help it not be so dry’. The potatoes were dry. Seafood and sides are drenched in butter-and not in a good way. Even the margueritas were bad. Our beach community has so many other good seafood restaurants, save yourself from this awful place. Eat pretty much anywhere else -

Fresh, delicious seafood and quick service. Lobster Mac n cheese is OMG good. FYI, spicy shrimp means it is covered in hot sauce. Lobster bisque was a bit shy on meat.
